Description

An original 1st press of Closer on the UK Factory label. Matrix A1/B1. Etching 'Old Blue' - indicative of 1st issue. The vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse textured cover. Also included is the original inner sleeve too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is non-existent. I couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. A beautiful player by any standard and one that would be impossible to improve upon.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and boy do you have to look after these ones to seem them anything close to this good. The absence of lamination and the white colour means they are one of the hardest covers to find in top condition. Whilst not perfect this example acquits itself admirably. Beautifully white back and front with no creasing. The only vague issue is a small patch of light staining on the rear against the spine. Edge wear is very light and the spine, unusually, is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat. A lovely specimen!
Inner (Ex) Lovely clean condition and no splits.
