Description
Here is a rare opportunity to own the 1979 issue of Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division. The Outer sleeve is in good condition (see photos). It is the textured sleeve and only has minimal wear but does have some small tears where a record store sticker was on the front cover. There are some small scratches, creases and outlines of the record that are visible on the photos.The spine is in good condition. The printers Garrod and Lofthouse are credited on the rear sleeve.
The inner sleeve (with rounded edges) is yellowed, especially in the corners and a couple of small creases on the picture side but otherwise is in very good condition. It does however have "FACT 10 4-" written in the top right hand corner where a record shop catalogued it. This is also visible in the photographs.
The vinyl is translucent red (see photos) and appears to be matrix/run out variation 4 with the following etched on the inner rings:
Matrix / Runout (Side A - Variation 4): FACT 10-INSIDE! A A PORKY PRIME CUT - STEP (note, there is another symbol here, please see photo)
Matrix / Runout (Side B - Variation 4): FACT-10-OUTSIDE! B - THIS IS THE WAY A PORKY PRIME CUT
The vinyl is not at all warped and appears to be in VG+ condition but I am not an expert, I am describing in as much detail as possible but please ask if you have any specific question. The vinyl has some very light hairlines and the centre hole is not at all misshapen. This record appears to have been looked after and there are no deep scratches to note. I've played it through my computer and it plays all the way through without any jumps or scratches on either side but the sound quality of the equipment I am using is not sufficient enough for me to comment on the level of background noise or the record sound quality but I see no reason for it not to be very good.
