LISTEN BEFORE BIDDING
Listen to the whole album before bidding.

This is the original 1st press of Joy Division's 'Unknown Pleasures' on the Factory label from 1979.  The vinyl is translucent red when held up to a strong light.  The album comes in a textured cover with an inner sleeve.  The textured cover is still in very good condition with some light creasing and scuffing (some of the scuffing is more noticeable because of the black cover).  The inner sleeve is in very good condition with some light creasing and discoloratrion to the white of the inner.  The vinyl has 1st press matrix numbers and stampers (see below).  The labels are in excellent condition with minimal signs of spindle marks.  The vinyl looks near mint, really bright and clean with virtually no marks except a few wispy very light sleeve removal marks.  Playback is superb with virtually no surface noise except for some very light crackle in places.  This is really nice, well looked after vinyl hard to find in such superb condition.  If you are intending to make a bid please play and listen to the audio of the album to judge for yourself.

Album notes:
Rare original first press release on Factory records (FACT 10) from 1979
Translucent red vinyl when held up to strong light
Textured cover
Printed  inner sleeve
'STEP' and 'THIS IS THE WAY' groove etchings
1 / 1 stampers
Labels with minimal spindle marks (barely played)
The vinyl looks near mint and sounds superb, a brilliant copy hard to find in this barely played condition (listen to the audio and see photos)

Album Cover notes:
Front and back covers are still in very good condition, some light creasing, scuffing
Inner sleeve, very good condition, light creasing, discoloration
No writing on cover or labels

Light scuffing to spine

Vinyl grading:

Side 2: NM (very light sleeve removal marks)

Vinyl notes:
Both sides have been played on a Rega RP1 turntable with an Ortofon OM5E cartridge (tracking weight: 1.5g - 2.0g) and listened to on a pair of high end Sennheiser headphones.

Matrix numbers (and runout groove markings):
Side 1: FACT 10-INSIDE ! A             A PORKY PRIME CUT        STEP
Side 2: FACT-10-OUTSIDE ! B         THIS IS THE WAY              A PORKY PRIME CUT

Side 2: AP       1

A-side:

B-side:
Virtually no surface noise, excellent playback

In general the vinyl is in near mint condition.  It looks very clean, bright and unmarked except for a few very light sleeve removal marks.  Virtually no surface noise except some very light crackle in places.  Excellent playback.

I tend to be over critical of a records condition as it is not my intention to misrepresent what I am selling.  I want the buyer to feel what they have bought is as described although not everyones opinion of its condition will be the same as mine.

If you have any doubts or questions about this record, please ask me and I will try to be as helpful as I can.
