Description
Here for auction is a very rare one-off white label copy of Cope’s 1989 Skellington album released on the Zippo Records label.
The album was the unofficial press copy that Cope’s publicist Mick Houghton used to secure Album of the Week in both N.M.E. and Melody Maker. It has, therefore, been played a great deal by journalists and for journalists. Thereafter, this copy has resided down the decades in the warm stockroom of Cope’s Head Heritage company, ensuring that the item has remained clean and fresh-looking. No tears nor any worn corners, the jacket also bears a very clean and intact spine (see photos). However, there is a small hole in the back sleeve centre (from what, impossible to tell), and there is obvious ringwear and minor scuffing where the record has been replaced in the jacket.
Both sides of the vinyl have just been played through, and features a fair amount of wear. No jumps occurred, but there are many pops, and several of the tracks bear much surface noise.
