JULIAN OLEVSKY

JS BACH: THE COMPLETE SONATAS AND PARTITAS FOR SOLO VIOLIN

Westminster WL 5306: Sonata #1 in g, Partita #2 in d
Westminster (X)WN 18072: Partita #3 in E, Sonata #2 in a
Westminster XWN 18827: Sonata #3 in C, Partita #1 in b

This set of very rare monaural LPs consists of the original earliest pressings of each record. The only other way they come is in the box set XWN 3311, which is very difficult to find. The records are cut at a high level. The playing is extraordinary and the recorded sound is superb.

Condition of Vinyl: WL 5306 is VG+(+)(random soft ticks)
(X)WN 18072 is NM (beautiful copy)
XWN 18827 is NM-/VG++ (scuff on side 2, bands 1 to 3, causes barely audible ticks)

Condition of Jacket: WL 5306 is VG (spine split, bottom splits)
(X)WN 18072 is VG+ (bottom split)
XWN 18827 is NM

Other details:WL 5306 was auditioned with a mono cartridge, the other 2 with a stereo cartridge. Since the records are cut at a high level the background noise and ticks are unobtrusive. There are a few small pressing bubbles and dimples which are not audible, i.e. no thumps.

Description of Condition:

|||||Mint Vinyl: Sealed, or opened to verify pressing, but unplayed-----Jacket or Box: No obvious flaws;
|||||NM(+) Vinyl: Almost no sign of play, perhaps a spindle mark-----Jacket or Box: Minor ring wear, creased corner;
|||||NM- Vinyl: Almost NM, but with at most a few barely visible and inaudible scuffs-----Jacket or Box: Slightly more wear than NM;
|||||VG+(+) Vinyl: More obvious evidence of play and scuffs or light marks that will produce soft ticks but will not seriously impair enjoyment of the music-----Jacket or Box: Possible seam splits, writing (even if otherwise NM);
|||||VG(-) Vinyl: Clear evidence of play, with some audible clicks but no skips.....only rarer records offered in this condition-----Jacket or Box: Writing, larger seam splits, discoloration, bent corners

INNER SLEEVES: Original inner sleeves are provided, when possible. Many older mono LPs were sold without inner sleeves and quite a few stereo LPs were sold with transparent plastic ones. All LPs will be shipped with a replacement generic inner sleeve if the original is not available.

INSERTS and/or LIBRETTOS: These are provided when available, and their condition will be stated. It will also be noted if they are missing.

GRADING is strict and conservative, and records are guaranteed to be as described. Most LPs are graded visually and visible marks checked for audibility. Scuffs and scratches on older mono records are checked using a mono cartridge and are often barely audible, even though they might be clearly audible using a stereo cartridge. Grading is influenced accordingly. Nevertheless, mistakes happen and defects can occasionally be overlooked or be too small to detect. Most records are not cleaned before the auction, and cleaning is strongly advised before evaluation after purchase. If the records are not in the condition described a refund will be provided, minus the cost of shipping.

Payment in $US is due within 7 days of receipt of invoice unless other arrangements are made. Paypal is the preferred method of payment.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

---Domestic mail by USPS anywhere in the US, including DELIVERY CONFIRMATION---

Priority Mail: The cost of shipping depends on the zip code. Media Mail remains a less expensive shipping option and is typically $4 for a single LP.
PLEASE IGNORE THE SHIPPING COST STATED NEAR THE PHOTO. IT IS INCORRECT!!!

----Rest of the World, up to 4 Pounds, including PROOF OF MAILING----

FIRST CLASS MAIL INTERNATIONAL (airmail) is currently the most economical option. Heavier LPs (early monaural records, for example) and LPs in deluxe jackets will generally be somewhat more expensive to ship. The typical cost of sending one record to Europe or Asia is between $15 and $16. Shipping to Canada and Mexico is less costly, about $8 for single LP. The cost of the packing materials is included in the shipping charges.

---INVOICES WILL BE SENT WITHIN 3 DAYS OF END OF AUCTION AND WILL INCLUDE THE SHIPPING CHARGE---

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR PAYMENT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE INVOICE.

Shipping is by USPS, though FEDEX is an more costly option. All LPs and 78s are packed to the highest standards in mailers designed for shipping records. LPs are always packed outside their jackets and a corrugated stiffener is used for extra strength. On request, packages will be sent by registered mail at buyer's expense. Insurance is highly recommended for overseas shipping, and is mandatory for records costing over $100.
