Kafé: Ka Lévé - 1982 - Debs HDD 726 - France.

Afro Jazz Fusion LP by "Ka Lévé" band from Guadeloupe (fench West Indies) lead by Edouard Ignol aka Kafé"(Trumpet, ka, Chant). E.I. begun his musician carreer as trumpet player (Louis Armstrong & Miles Davis was his favorite players) in "Fairness" band (think Roger Fanfant), involved in Modern Gwo Ka after studing this art with great masters Gerard Lockel & Velo. Edouard made his own percussions instrument, his music is a marriage between trumpet & gwo ka. This LP, the first, is the result of all his works: Gwo ka , bass, flute, guitars, drums & chants +chorus. A deep afro jazz LP remind Fela Anikulapo Works by moment. A traditional modern folk journey in west indies !

Musicians: E.Ignol (Trumpet, ka, Chant), Olivier Vamur (Flute, Chorus), Christian Laviso (Guitar, percussion, chorus), Michel Sylvestre (Trombone, chorus), Charles Laurent (Bass, chorus), Joel Ogoli (Batrika), Hubert Arenate (Maké, Percussions), Gustave Labeka (Boula, percussions, chorus), Michel William (Chant, chorus).
