Description
Mauricio Kagel
“1898”
Deutsche Grammophon 2543 007 (1973, Germany)
German-Argentine avant-garde composer Mauricio Kagel (1931-2008) composed largely experimental theatrical works. This composition is no exception! It utilizes four custom made instruments that combine both horn & string instruments as one (!) and 22 children aged 10-13 years of age with untrained voices. What results is a fantastic experimental work by this wonderfully creative composer. Not to be missed!
Record is in NM+ condition (appears unplayed) and beautiful gatefold jacket (one of my all time favorites) with 2 page illustrated stapled insert is NM. Scarce & hard to find DG issue!
I recently acquired a small but superb collection of modern, experimental, improvised, & electronic music. I will be offering 50 or so items from this collection at the end of each month. This kind of material rarely surfaces so keep looking for future auctions.
