Description
KARAJAN’S DEFINITIVE BEETHOVEN SET –
10LP Deluxe Box #883 of 1,000 –
DG 2740 172 -
German Press Celebration Edition
Deutsche Grammophon was so pleased with the new set of Beethoven Symphonies from Karajan and his Berlin, it was decided to put together a special package.
And quite special, it is.
Only 1,000 boxes were assembled in 1977 for the US, each numbered and signed by the maestro, with a poster enclosed, all 9 Symphonies, and a special disc, an interview with Richard Osborne about the new Beethoven cycle.
This is #883 of that special release, as mint as the day it was made. Booklet and poster are fine, smart, and clean.
Pristine and ashine, each of the records has never, ever, seen a turntable.
An historic set, mint, not to be missed.
For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.
Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
