Probably one of the finest operatic conductors to ever grace the podium, Karajan here displays his mastery in playing music of Wagner.
(Note, please, no matter the difficulty or complexity of any music, Karajan never needed a score at the podium, directing everything from memory.)
This is a release in Angel’s spectacular 45 Sonic Series and it is extraordinarily dynamic and spacious in its delivery of Prelude to Act II of LOHENGRIN, THE FLYING DUTCHMAN Overture, Prelude to Act I of DIE MEISTERSINGER, and Prelude to Act III of PARSIFAL.
A wonderful orchestral demonstration record, here in a jacket still within its original shrink-wrap, heavy platter within will play near mint.
