Description

This is a boxed set by Deutsche Grammophon, containing the famous presentation of Wagner's Ring Cycle, conducted by Herbert von Karajan and performed by the Berliner Philharmoniker, recorded onto 19 LPs. A particular feature of this set is the inclusion of a large-format book with 'margin notes' on Karajan's interpretation, together with the complete libretti. The entire book including all the libretti is translated twice and presented in German, English and French - and the 'margin notes' are also translted into Italian!

This set has been well looked-after; the LPs are in excellent condition without scratches or other marks, and have rarely been played. The box has seen more wear (to be expected, given the weight of the contents) and the corners especially at the base are scuffed. The book is also in excellent condition with no yellowing of the pages. There is a little scuffing to the boards of the book. The dust jacket is present and undamaged.

Note that this is a heavy item; with 19 LPs, a very large format book and sturdy cardboard box the boxed set alone weighs 5.9kg or over 10lb. Delivery is charged at cost but this kind of item is best collected or delivered by hand. I am happy for the buyer to collect (from Northwich, Cheshire, close to M6 and M56) or if the buyer lives within 50 miles of me I will deliver for the price of fuel at 10p/mile.
