KARINA
“KARINA ‘69”
“LAS FLECHAS DEL AMOR”
(Little Arrows)
WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Hispavox Records very first MONO press released by Hispavox Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1969 by Asociación Fonográfica Nacional “ASFONA” M.R. (Asfona Records), catalog number HH 11-163, with machine etched matrix numbers ASF-A-1-EXP G in Side 1 and ASF-B-1-EXP G in Side 2, with traditional Hispavox Records labels of the period, with “Hispavox” logo at top. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile again!!!
“Karina ‘69” or “Las Flechas Del Amor” is a compilation album which seems to have been ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE and, like usual in that period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER, made of a single piece of a thin cardboard folded in the middle with two sheets of paper attached (partially glued in the mouth edge) to that cardboard for front and back covers, so 3 sides are open faking a gatefold cover and kept all together for a plastic bag. Front cover has a very nice orange-tinted picture of Karina, with the album title “Karina ‘69” and information in Spanish only, “(Includes The Hit “Little Arrows”)”, at bottom edge. Back cover is black and white and it has other picture of Karina, with album title and, in Spanish only, “Little Arrows”, at top edge, with full tracklist written in Spanish, translated to original language, English or French, when applicable, with full credits for songwriters and Spanish lyricsts, and additional information for arrangers and directors of each track, Waldo De Los Rios, Miguel Ramos and Juan Carlos Calderón, with Hispavox Records logo and catalog number at top right corner. In labels, the album title is, in Spanish only, “Little Arrows”, with full tracklist written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and Spanish lyricists, and arrangers and directors of each song, with additional information about publishers. It’s very interesting to notice that in both label and cover the English song “Little Arrows” is misprinted “LITTLE ARROW” and it’s not the only error, the name of one of the songwriters of “Romeo Y Julieta”, Hans Bradtke, is correctly written in label, “H. Bradtke”, but it’s misspelled “H. BRADTHE” in back cover, and in back cover they use the Spanish word “pel.” (shortened “película”) and in label the English word “FILM” when the song is taken from a film. The tracklist in this compilation, with original titles and singers/bands when it’s a cover:
Side 1
1 La Fiesta (Abergavenny) – Marty Wilde
2 Yo No Creía En El Amor (Pretty Thing) - Gary Lewis & The Playboys
3 Anoche Soñé
4 Las Flechas Del Amor (Little Arrows) – Leapy Lee
5 Qusiera
6 Los Chicos Del Preu
Side 2
1 Romeo Y Julieta (Romeo Und Julia) – Peggy March
2 Plumas De Ave
3 Sendero Amarillo (The Yellow Road) – The New Faces
4 Quiero Vivir
5 Vivir Para Vivir (Vivre Pour Vivre) – Francis Lai
6 El Adios
7 ¡Que Más Te Da! (Me, The Peaceful Heart) – Lulu
About this album, it doesn’t seem to exist in other country, but in 1969 it was released in Mexico a compilation album by Karina, which includes the same 13 songs of this Chilean compilation, but in different order, so, maybe this Chilean album is a version of that Mexican compilation, I don’t know, but what it’s clear it’s this album has an UNIQUE KIND OF COVER and UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, ONLY RELEASED HERE IN CHILE. So, here you have the chance to get and own this compilation album in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, with UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE ERRORS, a record almost never seen, A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Euro Pop and Yé-Yé music of the ‘60’s and especially for all fans, lovers and collectors of Karina, Waldo De Los Rios and Miguel Ramos!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great VG+ or EX- condition, clean and clear, with some moderate wear in all edges, more evident in the mouth edge and corners, with some little rips and creases, especially evident at the bottom edge of back cover and left side of front cover, with faint age browning and blemishes, and initials and name of a past owner in front cover. The record is in strong G+ or even VG- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with loads and loads and loads of scuffs, light hairlines and soft and not so soft scratches of all sizes and in all directions, which could make you think the record won’t play properly, but amazingly don’t affect play at all, which also proves these old records were made to last. Labels on both sides are in great VG+ or EX- condition, clear but not so clean, with some spindle hole wear and names and initials of past owners written in both sides, with faint blemishes. The sound is in strong VG+ or even EX- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and some occasional light clicks and pops (especially evident in the first seconds of song “Anoche Soñé”, in Side 1) here and there, more evident in silent parts, which don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, UNIQUE TRACKLIST and UNIQUE ERROS, with all songs sung in Spanish, for sure not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but with a nice and complete cover and with the record not with the best look, clear and fully readable labels and with a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 56 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean record. WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
______________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT UPDATE (September 2024)
Because the UK’s tax authority, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC), requires eBay collect VAT information from sellers with UK customers, I’ve been informed that I need to have a “valid UK VAT number on file” to sell to UK customers. As I live in Chile and all my items are shipped from Chile, I don’t have an “UK VAT number”, so I’m sorry to inform that I’M FORCED TO EXCLUDE THE UK FROM MY WORLDWIDE SHIPPING POLICY. If you live in the UK and you’d like to bid/buy some of my records, please contact me, I’m sure we could find some solution.
If you have some doubt or question, feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
