Kate Bush : Hounds Of Love (1st Press)

This genuine first pressing plays to a very high standard and especially S1, just a little 'background' on S2.

S1 is in beautiful condition with only a couple of faint hairlines and still has a lovely glossy sheen.  Whilst S2 is still very clean there are three hairlines that are slightly more obvious but they are certainly not scratches.  Still in fine shape for over 30 years old!

Play grading  

With barely any static on the intro S1 plays with impeccable quality throughout.  'Running Up That Hill' begins the side with superb clarity and tremendous depth and warmth and as I say this quality does not diminish.  Even the relatively quiet 'Mother Stands For Comfort' plays with incredible clarity.  There is not one single click or pop on this side and the only intrusive 'background' is a couple of crackle sounds literally at the end of the fade out on 'Cloudbusting'.  This really is superlative audio for a genuine first pressing now 33 years old.

  'And Dream Of Sheep' on S2 has a little static here and there but it is certainly not intrusive.  It is very quiet and totally in the background.  The remainder of the side plays with very impressive audio also.  Some minor static in the quieter sections but in the main the clarity is once again of a very high standard.  A light click on the 'Hello Earth' intro but aside from it plays extremely well until the final end 'choral' section where there is some crackle here and there.  The final track 'The Morning Fog' plays with wonderful audio and no interference.

The Cover

The cover is in lovely condition apart from some sticker removal marking top right.  The edges and spine have no wear and the opening edge looks hardly handled.  Considering how white much of this cover is it only has a little fading around the edges.  One faint mark on the back cover but overall an impressive cover.

Lyric sleeve

In superb shape with no side splits it remains very clean.  There are just a handful of very faint age related spots on the 'Hounds Of Love' side.

The labels

They have no marking or writing and only one spindle trace on each side.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
