Amazing solo improvised Keith Jarrett live recording in two parts across 4 sides of vinyl
("Recorded live at the opera in Köln, Germany, January 24, 1975").
Pretty certain this is one of the reissues but unsure of the year. Here's a detailed description;
Matt laminated gatefold cover which has a high quality smooth finish.
ECM 1064/65 ST is the only catalogue number used on this release including all labels, rear
sleeve and spine.
Labels have ECM logo (not "ECM Records").
Label rim text on all 4 sides begins with "Alle Urheber- und Leistungsschutzrechte".
'ST ECM' runouts characteristic of Schallplattenfabrik Pallas GmbH.
Record sleeves are plain white with a poly lining.
Matrix / Runout (Side A, stamped): ST ECM 1064/65-A1
Matrix / Runout (Side B, stamped): ST ECM 1064/65-B1
Matrix / Runout (Side C, stamped): ST ECM 1064/65-C1
Matrix / Runout (Side D, stamped): ST ECM 1064/65-D1
Matrix / Runout (All sides, handetched): HR
Rights Society: GEMA
Sleeve condition: G, sleeve has had some kind of liquid spilled on it causing a visible
watermark (at its worse inside the gatefold) and some buckling/creasing of the paper
at points. The spine, top edges and corners are pretty good but the edges where the vinyls
go in slightly crisp outwards. There is also some soiling/wear throughout.
Vinyls: VG+ or better. I have just played all four sides. Though they are not mint clean the noise
is minimal. I counted perhaps 3 audible clicks throughout but these were all low level. As this
is a solo piano recording with many quiet passages it would be spoiled by an excess of vinyl noise
and that's certainly not the case here, an enjoyable listen.
So, what you'd be getting here is a very decent pair of vinyls with a rather grubby cover (I've reduced
the price accordingly of course). If you're only concerned about the music or you've worn out your
own copy, ideal..
