Personnel:
Kenny Dorham – trumpet
JR Monterose – tenor sax
Kenny Burrell – guitar
Bobby Timmons – piano
Sam Jones – bass
Arthur Edgehill - drums.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is NM- with full original gloss. Has been played a small number of times and handled with utmost care. No marks, no scratches, no scuffs – a beautiful disc in both appearance and sound. Plays beautifully with superb fidelity – no noise, no ticks, no skips, no groove wear. One of the most desirable early Blue Notes, this investment grade LP is one that you will never need to upgrade.
JACKET: “Frame” (kakabuchi) style jacket is nice VG+. Front art work is nice and bright, with very slight traces of surface wear just beginning to appear. Reverse is clean with some slight surface wear and the catalog number “1524” written neatly in pen in the top right corner, but overall very nice in appearance. I would have graded this jacket at least one grade higher, except for the presence of some wear and minor chipping on both top and bottom seams and spine. No splits. Corner tips are moderately worn. Overall a very presentable jacket to accompany the superb disc.

Review:
“'Round About Midnight at the Cafe Bohemia is a live 1956 album from trumpeter Kenny Dorham. Recorded at the Greenwich Village jazz club Cafe Bohemia, the album features Dorham backed by guitarist Kenny Burrell, saxophonist J.R. Monterose, pianist Bobby Timmons, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Arthur Edgehill. This is a swinging date of superb hard bop jazz that was originally released in two separate volumes.”
