From my personal collection this is a double LP by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition called The Ballad of Calico on Reprise Records 6476 from 1972. All of the lyrics on the album were written by Michael Martin Murphey. All of the music is by Michael Murphy and Larry Cansler. This has been in my collection for about 25 years and today is the first time I've played it. It is a very enjoyable album. All sides have beautiful sound and excellent tone. Side 1 had one pop and just the slightest hint of noise at times. One song had a little more noise so I'd call it a very nice VG++. Side 2 plays M- with an occasional hint of light noise. Side 3 had very light noise in the background at times and is a very nice VG++. Side 4 is VG++ with three light pops in the first song and some light noise in "Man Came Up from Town." It is a very nice set. The cover is a very nice VG+ to VG++ with a cut corner in the bottom right and some light wear on the front. It also has bumps in the corner points. This also comes with the lyric/info book that is in nice condition. Michael Murphey also plays rhythm guitar and sings, and John Hartford plays fiddle on the album.
