Description
This is a fine copy of a U.S. comp of rare 1960s singles and other tracks in which Kim Fowley performed or otherwise had a hand. Fowley was a notorious SoCal svengali, not unlike a countercultural Malcolm McLaren. The tracks collected here range from early '60s surf to the teen mini-soap opera "Memories of a High School Bride" to the Grains of Sand's garage-punk classic "Goin' Away Baby" to tracks by the Belfast Gypsies (a splinter group of Van Morrison's Them), Evergreen Blueshoes (featuring future Byrd Skip Battyn), and future Jefferson Airplane/Starship drummer Joey Covington. Fowley himself wrote the liner notes. The jacket has some creasing, and is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(-). The disc has a couple of fingerprints and some light scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise (not counting noise from the source discs) (EX).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
