I started collecting vinyl Lp's and 45's in 1971, I have 20,000 + which I have moved now 4 times, and about to move again next year. So it's time to let at least half go. Most are in at least Excellent condition.  I can't listen to them all, so most will only have visual grading, any with a high start price, I will listen too, and play grade.

ALBUM INFO:

This is the ORIGINAL UK FIRST PRESS "STEREO" King Crimson....In the Court of the Crimson King. An Observation by King Crimson. In 1970 most people owned Dansette's or the old fashion type of Radio Grams, I don't need to tell you how many Lp's got scratched and ruined by heavy weighted arms and metal needles.  This is the 1st UK press... So hard to find in any playable condition, as they have been squirreled away in collections or worse thrown away, Their Very 1st Studio Lp was mostly bought and played by young people and nearly all copies that turn up have terribly worn covers as this one's a totally unlaminated jacket and printed by E.J.Day, which is identified on the bottom front edge on the inside gatefold. Lots were damaged mostly with the owners name written on them. I believe that there are very few of these albums left now. Pressed in STEREO it was lucky to survive, as most people didn't have Stereo equipment, and now hardly ever turns up in this very good condition , or any reasonable condition! The album was released in the October of 1969 and now critically acclaimed.... A collectors dream. The cover is in Very good+ condition, made by E.J.Day, the sleeve is unlaminated and so Rare and hard to find undamaged.   

Well as you can see from the photographs this is a exception copy of a classic British progress rock album from 1969. Their first album, which hasn't a flaw, very much like all their early albums. A fusion of Jazz, folk and rock, popular belief to be the first ever Prog-Rock album! Certainly the first to captivate the world, as it's popularity was global, my personal thoughts are progressive rock as we know it, started in 67' with The Nice, and The Moody Blues. I've played the album on my Pioneer PL- 550X The vinyl lays flat and there are NO warps. The sound is STILL GREAT WITH NO DISTORTION OR JUMPS! here and there a little background crackle, but still a truly wonderful listen. Even the original inner sleeve is unsplit and has just a few creases is in Very good+ Condition!  

The album is a progress rock masterpiece!!!  My record has no distortiond sounds clear and loud, STUNNING PLAYBACK an overall enjoyable listen!  The sleeve is unlaminated without any Major creasing, The Labels have light spindle marks. NO WRITING OR MARKS. The Vinyl under strong light has a few superficial withdraw marks and light needle marks which do affect play.  An opportunity to own a Mega Rare true prog rock classic.

VINYL: 

VERY GOOD . The vinyl is still has a shine, There are NO deep penetrating scratches, only a few light superficial blemishes under bright light, light spindle marks any marks on the labels, NICE COPY!. 

SLEEVE:

VERY GOOD+ ( front Excellent ) Wonderfully clean unlaminated cover, very early first press release, the first sleeves by E.J.DAY. on the inside of the gatefold sleeve, which this copy has. No ring wear, please take a look at the photo's, sharp edges and opening, a little spine wear, all spine text visible but rubbed, (Back)  Very Good has somehow it has survived without picking up any staining or writing, but there is a damaged scrape only a couple of center meters on the ear, there is a little edge wear, but my copy has No damage! Most copies were played to death. This  sleeve is in hard to beat condition.   

INNER SLEEVE:

EXCELLENT+. Original paper type, being the very fragile inner sleeve is a great indicator of the amount of usage the album has had. I would say the inner is excellent and considering how fragile these are there, pretty good.....they are 45 years old, quite unbelievable intact condition.  

LABELS:

Clean, Spindle marks, no damage or writing.

AUDIO GRADING:

Plays EXCELLENT, due to the depth of the grooves! The best King Crimson album by far!. From the opening track, the record sounds still loud and bright! There are so many copies which are played to death, This copy plays with both channels playing without distortion, even pristine looking copies can hide the damage distortion caused by a damaged or blunt stylus. The playback is bright and sharp with a little background crackle here and there, an excellent playing copy, yes I listened all the way through loved it, but a pro-clean might help, the record is so loud in playback it does make you wonder why we started buying CD's... There are NO JUMPS, DISTORTION, OR FREQUENCIES DAMAGE.     

GRADING SYSTEM: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, I have added a (+) or (-) to my gradings where applicable.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. 
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. 
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

PAYMENT:

Items must be payed for within five days. If non payment within five days, I will then instigate an Ebay ruling. I will set up a dispute and either offer it to the runner up bidder or relist.

PACKAGING: 

I use preformed and standard mailers with stiffeners. I always take the vinyl out in its inner sleeve and place on top of the cover. This is then placed into a soft protective sleeve and packaged with stiffeners for full protection.
