Description
King Crimson - 'In the Court of the Crimson King' 'An Observation by King Crimson' - 1969 stereo LP on the pink Island label - ILPS 9111. Matrix nos / stampers 9111 A2 14, 9111 B2 15.
This is one of a number of records from my own collection that I will be selling over the next few months - I swore that I would never do this again but childrens' University fees etc demand it. Some of the records will be rare - basically I am only going to keep what I really like.
The sleeve of the LP is in pretty nice but not perfect condition - there is some wear along the spine and edges which is at its most pronounced at the two spine corners (please see one of the photos). At the top (R) there is some very minor damage, presumably due to a sticky label at one time being removed (again please see photo). The wide spine has become a little compressed so that the opening edges of the gatefold do not quite meet. There are also other minor examples of surface wear. Really however the cover remains pretty presentable and I will grade as VG+ which I think is strict and fair.
The record itself has moderate spindle marking to the labels. The vinyl has faint marks only and plays very well with very little surface noise, certainly none that is intrusive. There is I think one 'pop' on side 2 which was the only real defect that I noted. I will grade as at least EX which is a fair and very justifiable assessment.
I can accept payment in the UK by cheque, postal order, cash or Paypal. If purchasing abroad cash or Paypal only please. Buyer pays postage and packaging at cost - £2.50 UK first class; £3.50 airmail Europe; £6 airmail US and Far East. I will combine postages for more than one item.
