This Auction is for an absolute classic LP from the late 1960's

KING CRIMSON

In The Court Of The Crimson King

ISLAND ILPS 9111 Stereo 1969 Made in England.

Matrix numbers are ILPS 9111 A//2 14 and B//2 15.

This is one of the earliest pressings of this recording. Textured Pink Island i Label with the above matrix numbers.

Tracks are:

Side 1. 21st Century Schizoid Man, including Mirrors, I Talk To The Wind, Epitaph, including a)March For No Reason b)Tomorrow And Tomorrow.

Side 2. Moonchild, including a)The Dream b)The Illusion, The Court Of The Crimson King, including a)The Return Of The Fire Witch b)The Dance Of The Puppets.

Record condition: A lovely copy in very good condition. There are light surface marks visible on either side, but none are detrimental to the play or the sound quality. The record plays really well on both sides and sounds fabulous. An absolute classic.

I grade the album as Very Good.

Label condition:  The original Pink Island i labels are both in very good condition without any names or writing on them, but they do have rubbing around the spindle hole on either side.

Outer Sleeve/Cover:   The unlaminated gatefold sleeve has no rips or tears, but does have light rubbing on the corners. The spine edge itself is still pretty square, but shows light wear towards the bottom edge. Has a price written in pencil on the right hand eye in the front face cover picture, which could possibly be removed very carefully. The inner gatefold with the printed lyrics is in fabulous condition. The rear of the sleeve is very good just showing light wear along the spine edge again. I grade the sleeve/cover as Very Good.

Inner Sleeve: Original white paper die-cut inner sleeve in excellent condition.

Summary:  A very collectable 1st Press King Crimson album in very good, original condition.

I grade my albums very accurately, but as I am very critical I do tend to overstate faults and under grade most of my records. I like to be safe and know most customers enjoy receiving an album that exceeds their expectations. Have a look at my feedback and you will see what I mean.

I have been a collector of Vinyl records since the late 1960's and have been selling on eBay for over 12 years. I also sell Music Memorabilia, Die-cast Models, Motoring Memorabilia and interesting items from the 1960's & 1970's, the best decades I feel in my life. I have a huge collection and only sell items of quality that I am proud to own myself. I describe everything honestly and take pride in my feedback and customer comments left for me. I offer a full refund if anything is not up to the standard I have described.

All my records are played and graded by the "Bible" Record Collector's Grading System. Please see below:-

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extras such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
