PRESSED WITH HEAVILY TEXTURED PINK RIM LABELS THIS COPY DATES FROM AROUND DECEMBER 1970 WHEN THE PINK RIM LABELS DESIGN FIRST CAME INTO USE
BEAUTIFUL COPY - POSSIBLY NEVER BEEN PLAYED - THE LABELS ARE BRIGHT AND FRESH WITH NO SPINDLE WEAR (AND TIGHT SPINDLE HOLE) AND IT'S HOUSED IN AN 'AS-NEW' EXAMPLE OF THE MATT GATEFOLD SLEEVE (WHCH HAS BEEN CAREFULLY STORED IN A PROTECTIVE PLASTIC SLEEVE OUT OF THE LIGHT FOR THE PAST 40 ODD YEARS)

LABELS: MINT
Clean, bright and unmarked heavily textured labels with no spindle traces or signs of use - the spindle hole was still tight when placed on the turntable - all indicating it has possibly never been played
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
In keeping with similar Island releases of the time the vinyl surfaces are not pristine but carry some in-vinyl pressing blemishes - these have no audio significance
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT ('Moonchild' EXCELLENT)
Stunning audio reproduction throughout - deep, rich, warm, finely detailed and incredibly strong and apart from 'Moonchild', pretty much flawless.
'Moonchild' is generally very clean but of course there is some surface noise (+ a few soft 'ticks' and two brief 'clicks') on the practically silent moments - but nothing unexpected or unacceptable - and nothing I found at all intrusive.
I actually played 'Moonchild' at a very, very loud volume to highlight any of these audible surface issues so when the thundering drums at the beginning of "In The Court Of The Crimson King" kicked in the effect was electrifying - the sound quality is simply stunning.
I always find this a tough record to give a general grading so I have graded 'Moonchild' separately
SLEEVE: MINT-
As crisp, clean, sharp and fresh as the day it was made
INNER SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
But 'as-new' - clean and unmarked - hardly seen the light of day
