Description
This is an auction for the second Lp by King Crimson entitled In The Wake of Poseidon released in the UK on Island records in 1970, catalogue number ILPS 9127. This is a rare first press with A1 and B1 matrix numbers.
The first press vinyl is visually in Excellent++ condition with a lovely sheen. There is one very very light superficial mark at the end of Side 1 but overall the vinyl looks great. I have played the whole Lp at high volume and it plays without any skips or jumps. There is some background crackle which is more audible at the start off track 1 on each side but overall the audio is clear and vibrant with good sound seperation and i am happy to grade it as Very Good+.
The labels are in Excellent condition.
The very original textured gatefold sleeve is in very good condition. There is some storage wear to the corners and edges and a mark where a sticker has been removed in the top right corner but overall it looks great when it is opened.
Overall a very nice copy of this classic LP

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc
