Description
Available here is a 12" vinyl LP record - King Tubby’s Prophesy of Dub. A limited edition private pressing, it was issued in the UK in 1976 and is usually credited to the Prophets label (although equally, this may be a reference to Vivian Jackson’s backing band - see history below). No obvious catalogue number but matrix codes on the runouts are as required - VJ-8125-A FRM & VJ-8125-B FRM.
Vinyl Condition - Very Good - The record is bright and clean with a few small and light surface marks but no worrying scratches. Having listened to the record, I can confirm that it has a good clear sound and there is no jumping or sticking. However, the odd light click will be heard, while a degree of background crackle/noise is also present, perhaps commensurate with something of this age. The centre label also has what appears to be a name written on one side.
Sleeve Condition - Excellent - Simple plain white sleeve, possibly as issued. Still quite bright but with the odd small mark. Larger pictures of both sides of the disc and sleeve are available on request.

History - Rather rare and collectible and a UK limited pressing - sources vary the actual numbers from as few as 150 copies but possibly 500. Seems to have been issued in either a solid plain white sleeve or die-cut version, sometimes with hand-written information. The record was produced by N. Smith and arranged by King Tubby & Vivian Jackson (Yabby You). From what I understand, the music is a collaborative project, comprising King Tubby dub instrumental mixes of Yabby You material.
