Description
KINKS - Supersonic Rocket Ship / You don't know my name 7" - RCA / Telectra 20 037 - Released 1972.
CONDITION: Sleeve is Very Good- and record is Excellent.
This is the first time in EBAY that is presented such rare item by the KINKS! It is an Angolan pressing of the 1972 "Rocketship" single, in the time Angola was still a Portuguese colony and Telectra (the Portuguese representative of RCA) had also a factory there. With the war for independence many people left the coutry back to Portugal with nothing on their sleeves and many places burnt, destroyed etc. One of the reasons Angolan singles are so scarce having in mind that the pressings were quite limited at that time. Usually in Angola (like this single) they made a creative and rudimentar sleeve customised locally. This unique sleeve is as obnoxious as the "Silver Machine" 7" sleeve by Hawkwind also made in Angola (the Portuguese sleeve has nothing to do with the Angola version) fetching nearly the 500 gbp tag in Vg condition.
