FIDELITY DETAILS

The album’s Sterling Sound mastering delivers sharp, punchy transients, strong low-end presence, and high channel separation. Vocals sit forward without harshness, guitars have tighter definition, and the drum tracks retain their natural power and immediacy. This cut presents the album with cleaner detail and greater dynamic energy than later U.S. versions.

HISTORY

Rock and Roll Over was released during a crucial transition period for KISS. In 1976 the band had just come off the massive success of Destroyer, but they wanted to return to a rawer, more guitar-forward sound that reflected their live identity. Recorded at the Star Theatre in Nanuet, New York, the sessions emphasized a back-to-basics approach with harder riffs, tighter arrangements, and more straightforward production from Eddie Kramer. The album marked a reaffirmation of KISS’s hard-rock foundation as they were ascending to peak popularity, supported by constant touring, explosive stage shows, and a rapidly growing fan base. Songs such as “Calling Dr. Love,” “I Want You,” “Makin’ Love,” and “Hard Luck Woman” became staples of their 1976 live setlists and helped define the band’s identity during this peak era.

SHIPPING

All records are cleaned with archival-quality methods and handled only with gloves. Each is placed in a new anti-static inner sleeve and a clear outer sleeve, while still including the original inner sleeve if present. The record ships outside the jacket to prevent seam splits.
