Collector’s Note

Only a handful of these Colombian Double Platinum pressings surface globally each decade. They’re often missing discs or inserts. Complete, clean sets like yours can outperform expectations when promoted in niche KISS collector groups or Facebook markets focused on South American variants.

Description

Here is a scarce international edition of:

KISS – Double Platinum

   •   Country: Colombia (Industrias Philips de Colombia S.A.)

   •   Year: 1982

   •   Label: Casablanca / Philips (palm-tree label design)

   •   Catalog #: 9128 015

   •   Format: 2 × LP, Gatefold Sleeve

⸻

Vinyl Details

   •   Appearance: Opaque black vinyl with strong gloss. Under angled light, shows a faint blue-gray tone, common to Philips Colombia batches.

   •   Condition (visual): VG+/EX — glossy surfaces with only light sleeve scuffs/hairlines, no feelable scratches.

   •   Labels: VG+/EX — sharp print, minimal spindle marks.

⸻

Jacket

   •   Original gatefold intact.

   •   Condition: VG+ — some shelf/ring wear and light edge rubbing, typical of Colombian jackets. Spine intact and legible, inside panels clean.

⸻

Original Inner Sleeve

   •   Includes the fragile original Philips Colombia poly inner, rarely preserved. This adds completeness and authenticity.

⸻

Tracklist Quirks (Unique to Colombia)

   •   “Detroit Rock City” → “Detroit Ciudad del Rocke”

   •   “She” → “Ella”

   •   “100,000 Years” → “100000 AÑOS”

   •   Other classics: Strutter ’78, God of Thunder, Beth, Rock and Roll All Nite

⸻

Runouts / Deadwax (machine-stamped)

   •   Side A: 9128015 A – 10 11 82 + batch code

   •   Side B: 9128015 B – 10 11 82 + batch code

   •   Side C: 9128015 C – 10 11 82 + batch code

   •   Side D: 9128015 D – 10 11 82 + batch code

   •   All four sides bear the date stamp October 11, 1982 along with additional four-digit factory codes (see photos). These inscriptions confirm original Philips Colombia manufacture.

⸻

Why This Copy Matters

   •   Authenticity Proven: Clear 10/11/82 date stamp in the deadwax.

   •   Scarcity: Colombian KISS LPs were pressed in tiny runs, with fragile jackets and inners that rarely survive.

   •   Unique: Spanish translations like “Ella” and “Ciudad del Rocke” appear only on this edition.

   •   Completeness: Includes the original Colombian poly inner sleeve.

This is a collector-grade example, rarely offered with documented runouts, date stamps, and original packaging intact.

⸻

Shipping & Packing

   •   Vinyl shipped outside the sleeve in new poly-lined inners to prevent seam splits.

   •   Heavy-duty LP mailer with padding and corner protection.

   •   Domestic (U.S.): USPS Media Mail or Priority.

   •   International: eBay International Shipping Program or calculated postage.

   •   Combined shipping available.

⸻

Collector’s Note

For serious KISS international collectors, this is a centerpiece item. The dated deadwax (10/11/82), original Colombian poly inner, and unique label quirks make it far more desirable than the handful of worn copies that surface occasionally.
