Description
This is the 8 LP box set on the first HMV label (colour dog-in-stamp). It features Klemperer conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra in recordings made between 1959 and 1964.
Included is an illustrated booklet in English featuring notes by the conductor, Ernest Newman and William Mann.
The discs were made in Great Britain and are housed in identical EMI-printed, poly-lined paper sleeves. The discs have individual catalogue numbers: BOX 78801-9
The hinged box features a printed black label on the inside: "These stereo records....."
Condition of Discs The discs are clean and glossy and look unplayed - with no signs of spindle wear (or "squirreling") around the centre holes. I have not played the records in their entirety, but the the selections that I have listened to play beautifully, with negligible loss of high-end frequency. I have conservatively graded the discs as "Excellent" (Record Collector grading system).
Condition of Box etc There is some shelf/handling wear, but the hinged lid is fully attached and works perfectly. The gilt text on the spine is clearly readable. Overall grading VG+.
UK Postage Postage within the UK will be free by independent courier.
