Extremely Clean High Gloss Vinyl with a few light hairlines, superficial surface scuffs; not too much and nothing feelable. PLAY TESTED and plays superb EX+ to NM throughout. Labels are Pristine both sides.

COVER is VG+
Clean, bright Gatefold cover - laminated outside, matte inside gate. Very nice other than small edge creases and spot of wear / bb-sized sticker-pull mark, u.r. corner. Inside gatefold very clean (darker area in l.l. corner of Gatefold PHOTO is just my fat thumb in way of lens). Seams and spine completely intact with no wear or splits. Spine titles are crisp, clear and legible.

One listen will clue in as to why KRAAN's first two albums are consistently considered among the more important "Krautrock" collectibles from the early '70s..
.
"WINTRUP", their second LP, is filled with outstanding musicianship featuring long involved acid-tinged prog & psych passages exotic & eastern flourishes and basically a revelation for any collector who has run the limit with their early Pink Floyd And Hawkwind (SPACE-ROCK) classics.
.
The challenging sound of Kraut & Acid-Rock with evident ethnic and jazz strains still present and overall KRAAN's work on Wintrup follows the lines of their great first LP with killer structured sections as well as more improvisational freestyle creations. The psychedelic influences are clearly apparent in the guitar moves of Peter Wolbrandt and most of the tracks are characterized by massive, energetic grooves, sudden, intricate breaks and impressive, tripped-out solos.

The later tracks of the album show a turn towards more Heavy/Kraut/Psych Rock realms with scorching guitars, wild vocals and rhythmic parts and limited sax workouts. Instead of delivering self-indulgent sax riffs, Johannes Pappert shows his tremendous talent here to fit right in; adding strong tasty textures, using the sax either for producing ethnic tones and flavors of an Arabian taste, a bit close to AREA's style, or collaborating with the rest of the band in fluid and heavy-psych/prog interplay.

Truly a major statement within the Krautrock field. The songwriting is organic with memorable riffs and shifting song structures that sometimes meld into powerful jams. Very nice use of sound mixing and atmospheric effects as well - they never sound sterile or overworked. Kraan's vocalist Peter Wolbrandt is at his most feral, unintelligible and raucous - the vocals rock.

These guys play it like they mean it here. As has been said, the production is excellent, with an immediacy, intimacy and energy that is rarely found so well bound together, throughout the album from beginning to end.

Sadly he has now finally left this mortal coil, bequeathing me his deep Vinyl Mine.

I do NOT EVER want to exclude all bidders from any particular country, even though a few specific countries are responsible for almost all spurious "not received" or "not as described" claims over the years.
