KRAFTWERK ~ S/T Double LP
Original 1972 U.K. first issue pressing released on the swirl Vertigo label 6641 077.
Description :
Very rare and hard to find krautrock classic released on the highly collectable Vertigo swirl label. This was the debut album recorded by Kraftwerk.
Kraftwerk was formed in 1970 by Florian Schneider (flutes, synthesisers, electro-violin) and Ralf Hütter (electronic organ, synthesisers). The two had met asstudents at the Düsseldorf Conservatory in the late 1960s, participating in the German experimental music scene of the time, which the British music pressdubbed "Krautrock".
The duo had originally performed together in a quintet known as Organisation. This ensemble released one album, titled Tone Float (issued on RCA Records in the UK) but the group split shortly thereafter.
Early Kraftwerk line-ups from 1970–1974 fluctuated, as Hütter and Schneider worked with around a half-dozen other musicians over the course of recordingthree albums and sporadic live appearances; most notably guitarist Michael Rother and drummer Klaus Dinger, who left to form Neu!
Condition ~ Vinyl :
Vinyl is in EXCELLENT condition on all fours sides with hardly any sign of wear or play.
Lovely copy that plays superbly throughout.
Condition ~ Sleeve :
The laminated gatefold sleeve is in very good shape with a few light creases to be expected on a cover of this vintage. Slightly scuffed surface outer top and bottom of fold. A few pen marks here and there on the inside which do not detract from the audio value of the item.
Condition ~ Labels :
All four sides show only barely visible spindle wear. Appears to have been played rarely by careful owner.
Miscellaneous :
Comes complete with the original Vertigo inner sleeves.
