Leonard Albert "Lenny" Kravitz (born May 26, 1964) is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, actor and arranger, whose "retro" style incorporates elements of rock, soul, R&B, funk, reggae, hard rock, psychedelic, folk and ballads. In addition to singing lead and backing vocals, Kravitz often played all the guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and percussion himself when recording. He is known for his elaborate stage performances and music videos.

He won the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance four years in a row from 1999 to 2002, breaking the record for most wins in that category as well as setting the record for most consecutive wins in one category by a male. He has been nominated for and won other awards, including American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Radio Music Awards, BRIT Awards and Blockbuster Entertainment Awards. On December 1, 2011, Kravitz was made an Officer of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. He plays the role of Cinna in The Hunger Games film series.

Kravitz was born in New York City on May 26, 1964. He is the son of Roxie Roker an actress known for her character Helen Willis in the 1970s hit television sitcom The Jeffersons, and Sy Kravitz, an NBC television news producer. His father was from a Russian Jewish family (with origins in what now is Ukraine). His mother was of Bahamian and African-American descent, and was from a Christian family. during his early years, Kravitz did not grow up in a religious environment. After a spiritual experience when he was thirteen, he started attending church, becoming a non-denominational Christian.

Kravitz was named after his uncle, Private First Class Leonard M. Kravitz, who was killed in action in the Korean War at the age of 20, while defending against a Chinese attack and saving most of his platoon; he was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross but was denied the Medal of Honor.

Kravitz grew up spending weekdays on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, with his parents, attending P.S.6 for elementary school, and weekends at his grandmother Bessie (Mitchell) Roker's house in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Packaging :

I take great care during packaging and do each one personally. I use hand cut cardboard, which I get from a trucking company. (It's so thick that you will save it and use it again.) Each piece is 1/4 inch thick and together they are very stronge. I always remove the record from the picture sleeve and ship them inside a clear plastic record sleeve. All packages are marked in red : "Fragile Sticker" on one side and "Do Not Bend" on other both side.

Postage :

You have to pay for the postage.   This record will weigh 6 ounces when ready to ship. US winners can figure out your own postage costs for US First Class or Media Mail with tracking. I will send it through USPS and you will get an email with the tracking number. Overseas winners will get it sent by First Class Mail International. (Buyers from Brazil, France and Italy will assume all risks for shipping to your country.) I will send your record as soon as you pay. (same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM, Monday thru Friday) I will combine postage if you win more than one record. Please wait for my invoice for all of your winnings in one package. ANY EXTRA FEES lNCLUDING CUSTOM FEES WILL BE PAID BY BUYER

We normally ship via US Post Office 'First Class International'. Customers in Europe and Asia usually receive the record within 1-2 weeks. If you desire expedited delivery or tracking to delivery, we are glad to quote alternative shipping options.

G "Good" Disc has lots of wear, and serious visual abrasions. It should play through without skipping (unless otherwise noted). Condition is generally rough, but is good enough to serve as a "filler" copy until something better comes along. Only the rarest of records will be listed in this condition.

All other defects, such as cut-out holes (CO), stickers and/or writing on the label (SOL / WOL) and warping (wrp) are noted as listed here.

U.S.: Paypal is preferred. Personal checks will have to clear before I ship the item(s). You may also contact me before the end of the auction about other options.

If you live anywhere outside of the U.S.: Packages are normally sent via first class airmail.

I am happy to ship internationally, however I will not change the value of the record. There are many reasons for this. First, I enjoy selling records and do not want to jeopardize that. Second, I include a receipt with the order and if customs were to examine the package, they would see the difference. Third, if something were to happen to the item in shipping, I would refund the customers money, but then not be able to claim what was lost. Thanks you for understanding.
