Description
KRIS JENSEN - "Looking For Love" b/w CLYDE VALLEY STOMPERS - "Istanbul"
Super rare 'The Music Centre' acetate from 1964. Came from a collection of acetates from an ex EMI staffer and is most likely a one-off.
On one side there's the Kris Jensen version of the Roy Orbison tune. This has a 'Music Centre' label. The other side inexplicably has a killer version of "Istanbul" by the Clyde Valley Stompers, with an Emidisc label on it.
"Looking For Love" never had a UK single release. "Istanbul" appeared on a UK Parlophone 45 in 1963.
As with most 50+ year old acetates the audio quality isn't the best. It does play through without jumps or skips, but I'd say the Kris Jensen side is G+ at best, you can hear the song but there's a decent amount of surface noise.
The Clyde Valley Stompers side plays a lot louder but it is still G+ although it may grade higher with a pro clean. As it is such a rare 45 I'm selling it strictly as a collectors item. See photos for details.
The 45 will be packed safely and securely for posting. I will be selling a lot more vintage vinyl, do check my other listings.
