KSAN was a pioneering radio station in the late 1960s. It was one of the first stations in the country to play entire album tracks without regard to length, an entirely new concept at the time. KSAN bridged late 1960s hippie thinking with 1970s mainstream commercial programming. It was ultimately changed to a country station, ending a decade of experimentation, leaving only the legacy behind.
