Angel SEL-3776 Gold Slipcase/Clothbound Edition
This is Karajan's huge production with the Dresden State Opera, of Wagner's DIE MEISTERSINGER.
It features soloist support from Karl Ridderbusch, Horst Lunow, Eberhard Buchner, Geraint Evans, Zoltan Kelemen, Peter Schreier, Rene Kolo, Siegfried Vogel, Heinz Reeh, Helen Donath, Ruth Hesse, and Hans Joachim Rotzsch, among other notables.
This is the Deluxe Gold slipcase edition, the gold sleeve sliding off a clothbound box within. The cloth has somewhat yellowed (nothing serious) and the glue on the binding is drying out but is nicely contained by the slipcase. The booklet within, which is grand, is perfect, and all five discs will play near mint.
Simply a beautiful set, of a very fine performance.
