Extremely rare 1970 Belgian tri-fold lp (pressed by Deutsche Grammophon for a private Belgian label) with experimental compositions. The De Meester piece is a little-known early electronic gem that mixes synthesized electro-atmospheres with a text by Paul Van Ostayen (spoken by Frans Roggen). The work by the famous Stockhausen mentor Goeyvaerts was made for an installation at the Instituut voor Psychoakoestiek en Elektronische Muziek te Gent and is performed by Lucienne Van Deyck and Michel Lefebvre. The Goethals piece was also made for the IPEM installation; it is based around a text by Jan Van der Hoeven and the players are Van Deyck, Korosec, Lefebre, and Sabbe. The Van der Velden work uses texts from electronic composer Karel Van de Woestijne and features Lode Devos, tenor, and the B.R.T chamber orchestra under Leonce Gras. As you already know if you've been searching for recordings on vinyl by these composers, especially Goeyvaerts, they rarely surface and can be virtually impossible to find. Includes tri-fold-out cover with extensive notes, all of which are in Flemish.

artist info from album notes etc.:
Karel Goeyvaerts studied under Darius Milhaud and Olivier Messiaen, mastered the Ondes Martenot synthesizer under the tutelage of its inventor, Maurice Martenot, was one of the earliest electronic music pioneers along with Herbert Eimert and Robert Beyer at the WDR Cologne studio, and was an influential mentor to the young Karlheinz Stockhausen. • Goethals studied electronic music under Gottfried Michael Koenig. • De Meester studied under Jean Absil, worked on electroacoustic music with David Van de Woestijne, was friends with Sergei Prokofiev, Maurice Ravel, and Francis Poulenc, and helped to found the Institute for Psycho-acoustics and Electronic Music in Ghent.
