Description
I have been a collector of Kate Bush memorabilia in all forms since her debut 40 years ago. She remains one of my all-time favorite artists. I bought this 8 track cartridge tape of her first album, A Kick Inside, in the 1980's. A record convention dealer I knew had been carrying it with him for a few years and said he didn't want to carry it around anymore. Even though I no longer had an eight track cartridge tape player in either of my cars, I bought it as I knew it had to be quite rare. I had never seen one before. I have not seen one since.
I recently checked the website discogs and there apparently has not been a validated confirmation that a used one has sold. There are apparently at least three others in existence held by dealers or collectors who report to discogs, but they are apparently being held by their owners. According to the discog page on this item, there are 84 people around the world that have indicated to discogs that they are looking for this particular 8 track cartridge tape of The Kick Inside.
The Kick Inside was Kate Bush's first album. The cover photo of this 8-track Cartridge release uses the same picture of Kate as on the rare Canadian vinyl release. (The 8-track Cartridge Reference is #11761- stereo).
This 8-track cartridge looks to be in excellent condition. It has not been played to the best of my knowledge. The tape looks very clean and tight and it has remained packaged in its original plastic wrapper since I purchased it over 32 years ago.
I am not a record dealer. All my listings on eBay are from my own collection. I used to run an ad in Goldmine in the mid 1980's offering to buy rare Kate Bush items. I was able to procure things from all over the world. I am preparing to retire in a few years and need to slim down my extensive holdings, including my cherished Kate Bush items.
