Description

For sale is this extremely scarce vintage cassette of KEITH CROSS and PETER ROSS - BORED CIVILIANS on Decca Records 1972 in remarkable all-original condition.
**At the time of listing this appears to be the only copy of this cassette for sale anywhere on the internet.**

This fabulous album is one of the last undiscovered gems of English Rock. Vinyl copies of this title change hands for high hundreds of pounds - only a small number of copies were pressed on its release and the album disappeared without trace with no promotional effort from Decca. Cassette copies are almost unknown. If you haven't come across this album I really do recommend that you seek it out - it has wonderful original songs, great musicians, two fantastic vocalists, beautiful arrangements and lush orchestration, sleeve artwork that really should have become iconic and at the time a single that ought to have been a hit, a glorious cover of Sandy Denny and Trevor Lucas's PEACE IN THE END - It is available on streaming services. It was only issued once on cassette in very small numbers - this copy is self-evidently therefore the 1972 UK 1st Issue. It has a single panel paper J-card inlay and grey cassette shell with white paper labels and blue text.
Condition is great: The case is VG+ with light wear only - it is slightly mis-shaped in one corner (pictured). The inlay is VG+ with light signs of age. The cassette is Excellent (EX) with labels in superb condition and very light signs of handling only. This tape has been briefly tested, carefully returned to the start and is known to be working, however: cassettes of this age are immensely fragile. They should only be played with extreme caution on properly maintained equipment - you play this tape at your own risk.

If this item interests you why not have a look at my other listings. I have many other rare and vintage cassettes and records and an ever changing roster of interesting collectibles and ephemera. Feel Free to use the "MAKE OFFER" button - I won't mind at all.

I’M HAPPY TO COMBINE POSTAGE ON MULTIPLE ORDERS WHENEVER POSSIBLE.

Thanks for looking.
