Description
This early 70's project happened whilst Tippett and Fripp were recording with King Crimson, not sure exactly how many musicians were involved but I know it was over 50 and they played gigs in the UK and other parts of Europe as well as recording this.
Tippett is named on the sleeve as "M.D." as well as pianist and Fripp produced the record.
Other musicians include Julie Tippett,Robert Wyatt, the late Boz Burrell and Ian McDonald who played in the 1st King Crimson lineup.
This double album is titled "Septober Energy",there are no tracks but each side is different in mood, a lot of the music could have been improvised and there is a mixture of rock, jazz and classical influences. Close in feel to Soft Machine at the time.
I've only seen one other vinyl copy of this record.
It comes in a gatefold sleeve which list the musicians and some words by Julie Tippett on the inside.
Matrix numbers : DPS 2054 A/B/C/D. Released on RCA Victor 1971.
Sleeve and discs are in good condition, disc impression on sleeve (see photo) and slight signs of wear but no major faults to note.
