Up for auction is an original 1965 Blue Note stereo pressing of Kenny Dorham's final Blue Note Session (and final session as a leader), "Trompeta Tocatta".  Comprised of 3 Dorham originals and Joe Henderson's "Mamacita", this is an absolutely brilliant session. Features Albert Heath on drums (one of his very few sessions for Blue Note - bit of a mystery there). Essential lp.   DEAD WAX INFO:  Side 1 has BNST-84181-A etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNST-84181-B etched into the dead wax. Both sides have VAN GELDER and STEREO and the Plastylite P stamped into the dead wax. OG Blue Note stereo press, circa 1965.   VINYL VISUAL: VG and better with very few marks, but quite a bit of paper rash / mottling. Labels show moderate play (not much for the age of the lp).
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ and better with GREAT fidelity and a very low noise level, only really noticeable on run-ins and between cuts (and a tiny bit noticeable on Richard Davis' bass solo near the end of the title track). Maybe heard a couple of stray pops as well over the duration of the entire lp. A good cleaning may elevate this. A GREAT PLAYER, and a joy to play for grading.    
COVER VISUAL: VG and better with general wear and discolouration. A slight dish warp as well. Shows NICE. 
Comes with OG Blue Note branded printed paper inner of the era (VG). The lp is held in an Audiophile style rice plastic inner held in a die-cut white paper inner.   DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item). 
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER).             Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g. 
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST.
