Description
Both labels have the address of 47 West 63rd St.; 43 West 61st St. address at the bottom of the back cover. The record has both "RVG" and the "ear" inscribed in the dead wax. 7 tracks with leader, Kenny Dorham, trumpet; Hank Mobley, tenor sax; Kenny Drew, piano; Paul Chambers, bass; Philly Joe Jones, drums.
Cover: Good 3/4" split on the bottom edge at the insert edge. Crease near 1 corner of the front cover with corresponding impression on the back cover. Small, partial tear-scratch on the front cover. This is a minor condition. Impression of a record ring on the front cover. On the back cover there is a very light stain mark along the bottom edge, along the insert edge and 3" of the top edge. There is an irregular tear on the notes on the back cover near the spine. This approximately 4" edge tear partially interferes with 2 or 3 words in the notes. Slight wear on the front cover at the insert edge. This, also, is a minor condition.
Record: VG++ Visually shows no wear. There are 3 or 4 very light surface rub marks. These are barely visible. Some groove noise on a few revolutions on Track 1, Side 1. This is light but audible. On the balance of the track there are 5 or 6 isolated revolutions of groove noise. This noise is barely audible and lasts for less than 1 revolution each. There are 2 or 3 faint isolated clicks on Side 1 with 2 additional light clicks near the end of Track 3. On Side 2 there are 1 or 2 faint clicks at the beginning of Track 1 and 2 or 3 clicks on the balance of the Track. On Track 2 there are 2 or 3 faint clicks, barely audible mid-track. Also on Track 2 there are 3 or 4 faint clicks , some groove noise over the bass solo for several revolutions, and slight noise at the end of Track 2. 1 click on Track 3, Side 2. The record has been thoroughly checked for surface noise and detailed. In general most of the noise is very light. Fine overall condition and graded conservatively. Audibly checked.
