Description

Rare, original mono issue of the complete July, l961 concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, released for the first time in l972 as a two record set "Jazz No Municipal" on Imagem 5040/5041.  The records and laminated gatefold cover are all in near-new condition. The concert, promoted as an "American Jazz Festival" and sponsored by the U.S. State Department, brought some of America's most celebrated jazz musicians to South America, including Kenny Dorham, Curtis Fuller, Coleman Hawkins, Roy Eldridge, Zoot Sims, Tommy Flanagan, Al Cohn, Chris Connor, and many more.
