This is an Original U.S. First pressing from 1958 on Riverside (RLP-1125). Excellent / Excellent. One could not hope for cleaner LP. Purchased from a German record show some 20+ years ago.
AN IMPORTANT ! Jazz release on Riverside. DEEP GROOVE mid-'50s pressing, seems hardly played; glossy a few spindle marks if any---wow!!

The recording date for this album was December 30 in NYC, 1957 & January 7, 1958. An important jazz record and offered for those who can't take the chance of letting it be out bid from them, I offer a "BUY NOW" option. Audiophile visual quality on this one, just superb in every way. (see my other jazz LP)
Vinyl excellent. Hardly played. What does this mean? It means that the vinyl is very close to near mint with only superficial sleeve lines, if any-super GLOSSY!! seems little handled and probably saw little play. Bright, crisp labels; DEEP GROOVE pressing on both sides; The Cover excellent!! (corners all have rubbing, so make note); SPINE tight (have a look at photos); seems little handled; tight cover; tight seams; glossy laminated front--NO defacing writing audiophile playback of this ORIGINAL 1958 pressing on Riverside - With superb liner notes inside of this important debut on Riverside.
On a brief historical note, many choice American jazz LPs could be picked-up on U.S. military bases back before the 'Wall' came down, and it is more than likely some GI had purchased this one back in '58 for probably "$3.95." Actually, many U.S. records from the 1940s-1990s found there way to American bases via the States for GIs to purchase.
Jean-Baptiste Frédéric Isidor, Baron Thielemans (born Brussels, Belgium, April 29, 1922), known as Toots Thielemans, is a Belgian jazz artist well known for his guitar, harmonica playing, and also for his highly accomplished professional whistling. He is often credited by jazz aficionados and jazz critics as being among the greatest jazz harmonica players of the century. Thielemans started his career as a guitar player. In 1949 he joined a jam session in Paris with Sidney Bechet, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Max Roach and others. In 1951 he went on tour with Bobbejaan Schoepen. This hard bop date on RIVERSIDE will not disappoint!!!
