Description

Kenny Drew - Undercurrent

Blue Note -BLP 4059 Mono LP; "deep groove" pressing on side 2; blue and white "47 W 63rd" label both sides; "RVG" and "ear"  in deadwax

Cover- is VG+(+); Front-good luster, good picture; no  marks or seam splits;  corners touched, lower left the worst;  little if any edgeware, few small dark spots on top edge; almost imperceptible ringwear at top and bottomt; laminate just starting to flake at small spot near opening--Back-no tears, no residue, text clear; light "Delta Sigma Phi" stamped on upper left (my college roommate trying out his stamper);very light ringwear; small light tan stain in upper right corner--overall a very nice cover

Vinyl-visual grade is VG+/VG (+); decent luster; some hairline/light scratches; few light scuffs; some small age spot fading; listening -some  light 'tics" are  due to scratch early on side 2, track 1 and do not detract at all from music; some background krispies audible on quietest passages (like 1st 10 seconds of side 1, track 1 and on side 2, track 3) and between tracks(never cleaned with other than a soft cloth and distilled water)----the labels are clean, minimal light spindle tracks around the holes;--- trying describe everything i see/hear at high volume---i tried to be "critical" on this on as it's a DG, etc and want to see a satisfied buyer

 I have tried to grade the records/covers by accepted visual grading standards and have also listed what are necessarily subjective listening observations for the records(they've been mine since new). If the record does not meet your expectations, I will gladly refund the price and ask you to return the LP in it's shipping box.

==========================================

Putting on the last of my jazz LP albums tonight-may list a few tomorrow night that didn’t sell last time. I purchased all these records new, most of them from 1958  through early 1970s. Artists  include Coltrane (7 records including a 63rd Street Mono "Blue Train", 4 Clifford Brown, 4 Horace Silver, 5 Dizzy Gillespie, 5 Art Blakey, 2 Jackie MClean,Rollins, Hubbard, Shorter, Drew,etc. They include Blue Note ( Lexington Ave,  W.63rd St and NYUSA), Emarcy, Prestige, , Milestone, Impulse, Limelight,etc labels.  There are a number of BN, Emarcy and Limelight deep groove records. Please e-mail me for details or if you want the list. Except for 1-2 which I have noted, they were played over the years on a series of TT running from an AR to a Sony/SME to my Thorens 166MkII. I have always tried to be careful with the LPs, but have never been a vinyl collector, more a jazz listener. I have tried to note record's physical condition and also listen to large parts (sometimes all) of record before listing because at times appearance and sound are not the same. I graded these so you will not need to “automatically downgrade one notch because it’s on eBay”; please see the feedback for the first 50 LPs I sold.—thanks to all of you—might start selling my R&R LPs next
