King Crimson ?– In The Wake Of Poseidon UK First Issue - nice example.

Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting LPs in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!

First issue copy of the second album from King Crimson. A1-B1 matrix.

Cover - is gatefold, heavily textured, like canvas but with a shine over the top. This is in very good condition indeed - there's just nothing wrong with front or back, or inside. Light wear at some points on the edges, more towards the corners, and corners do show a bit of wear. Light wear on spine, not easy to read (the texturing doesn't help!)

Record - labels are very nice. On side one I can see a tiny speck between tracks 3 and 4, and there are a bunch of tiny scratches at end of track one - also a scratch on track 2. On side two there is a scratch which is mostly in the dead wax at the end, but goes just a little way into the music grooves. There's a scratch at the start, which crosses the very short first track. I have found that most second-hand Crimso records are noisy (crackly) in the quiet parts - which tend to be very quiet. However, this one is very good - I have play-tested side one. There are loud crackles in a brief quiet first part, about 50 seconds, and a spell with a soft once-per-rotation crackle, but most of it plays extremely well, with very nice sound indeed.

I have been collecting records for 50 years (when finances allowed!), and now it's time to sell-up. I bought them mostly around local shops (second-hand), but sometimes from e-bay, and sometimes new, for my favourite bands.

When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.

I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.

They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.

This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.

E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges, then do not bid.

International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.

If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.
