A very rare special deluxe edition of The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society, issued only in Italy on the Earmark label in 2004 (catalog #42047). A double gatefold, triple LP set, containing the original Mono mix of the album on the first record, and two LP's of stereo mixes, alternate takes, and stray tracks, this is a Rosetta stone for Kinks fans, a monolith of one of the deepest albums of the era by one of the greatest groups ever. Inside the gatefold is filled with writings about the group and the record, pictures from the era, as well as a track by track breakdown of the rarities and alternative mixes contained in the set. The first LP, with the original 15 track mono British version of the Village Green record has a few very light marks, a strong VG+. The remaining 2 of 3 records are completely flawless and look unplayed. Double gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition, glossy as the day it came. There is a small 1 inch tear by the top of the spine on the front cover, and a larger 1 and 1/2 inch split on the spine in the middle on the back of the gatefold. Hopefully these pictures do enough to detail this small damage, but overall this is in incredible shape. Very rare find, excellent set for a fan or a collector.
