Description
A little piece of British pop history! Very seldom offered & rarely in this stupendous condition!
Dave Davies/Kinks rare acetate/lacquer, Doin' The Best For You/Nothing More To Lose, USA 1980
Sometimes referred to as an "Acetate" or a "Lacquer" these pieces are the 10" acetates of the A & B sides of the 7" single Doin' The Best For You/Nothing More To Lose - USA 1980 & from Dave Davies solo album
"AFL1-3603" issued in USA in 1980 on the RCA Victor (AFL13603) label. May be the only ones in existence!
NOTE THE FOLLOWING
Misspelling labels:
Doin' The Best For You/Nothing More To Lose (acetate see photos)
Doing The Best For You/Nothin' More To Lose (official release)
Intro cut:
On reverse side of Doin' The Best For You Disc, the engineer has unusually cut the intro of the song again. Perhaps a different version needing to be listened to by Davies? (see photo)*
A must for Kinks & Davies completeness.
Rare when made & even more rare now, 34 years after manufacture.
These are 2 discs of 10" diameter & are metal plates, probably aluminium disc covered in nitrocellulose lacquer - each disc is one sided!* Housed in original custom plain manilla sleeves.
