Mahler: Sumphony No. 2 in C minor "Resurrection"

(Columbia SAX 2473 & SAX 2474 UK 2 x LP 1963)

This is the complete symphony issued as two separate Stereo LP's (Part 1 & Part 2) in the UK in 1963. These were designed to be purchased together. Both LP's have "blue & silver" Columbia labels. This is quite a rare 2 x LP set. I have some other rare UK Classical LP's for sale too. So please see my other listings. Don't miss out!

1. Record 1 (Columbia SAX 2473 UK LP 1963) UK original Stereo pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a mid sized "Stereo" on the front. It comes with its original polythene-lined "EMI" company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has turquoise blue & silver "Columbia" labels. It has YAX 903-1 and YAX 904-9 matrix numbers.

Sleeve: There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips, & to the sleeve opening in some areas also. There is some light ringwear & some very light fading to the rear. VG++ condition.

Vinyl: There are some light or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There is one quite long, but very light, 8 cm hairline mark on one side. There are two other very small & light 1 cm hairline marks also.  VG+ condition. I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays VG to VG+ overall, & Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. The labels are in excellent+ condition and show minimal spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some mild or more moderate ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

2. Record 2 (Columbia SAX 2474 UK LP 1963) UK original Stereo pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a large sized "Stereo" on the front. It comes with its original polythene-lined "EMI" company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has turquoise blue & silver "Columbia" labels. It has 1st press YAX 905-2 and YAX 906-2 matrix numbers.

Sleeve: There is some light or mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the sleeve opening. There is some light fading, & some very light foxing, on the rear sleeve. VG+ condition.

Vinyl: There are some light or mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There is a light 4.5 cm hairline mark on Side 4. There is also a very light 7 cm, & 4 cm, hairline mark on Side 4 also. The polythene inner sleeve has left some light or mild marks on the vinyl. These are primarily on, & around, the dead wax areas. Side 3 looks in Near EX condition. Side 4 looks in Good++ condition. Therefore, VG condition. I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays VG+ overall, & Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. The labels are in near perfect condition and show next to no spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG condition. There are a very few minor tears on one side, around the die-cut area. Someone has repaired them with some small bits of tape. There is some light to mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.

    >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.

EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwear or edgewear.

NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ringwear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7". I use a cruciform box for larger orders (4-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...

Sorry, I only accept Paypal, or money sent in a registered letter from overseas buyers.

Please note that I cannot reimburse payments for any uninsured items lost in the post. Sorry!
