ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!
This is the Sacred Dramatic Festival of PARSIFAL, as recorded at the Bayreuth Festival in 1962, Hans Knappertsbusch at the helm. It features terrific soloist support from George London, Jess Thomas, Martti Talvela, Hans Hotter, Gustav Neidlinger, and Irene Dalis, among other notables.
To say that this set, in fact, is one of the very finest sounding Philips releases ever, would not be overstatement, as the sound here, I tell you, is to-die-for. Incredibly vivid and alive, the stage breadth and definition is enough to sate any music loving audiophile appetite.
Box of this copy has two split corners that remain firm and are taped; otherwise, quite handsome and presentable, with a stubborn price sticker from years ago. Inside, are five US Mercury pressings that should play near mint. (The Euro pressings don't cut it. Hardly.)
An extraordinary set that is the finest PARSIFAL I have ever heard, and, I dare say, amongst the very finest recordings on the planet, bar none. Exquisite definition and space...and heart.

Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
