Robert Schumann: The Four Symphonies, Overtures, Concert-Pieces

Franz Konwitschny conducting the Gewandhaus Orchestra, Leipzig

German Ed1 Eterna stereo-pressings with green & white labels from 1966 with article numbers 825127, 825191, 825289, 825296.

On sale are all four recordings of Konwitschnys interpretation of the Schumann Symphonies with the Gewandhaus Orchestra.                                                                                                                                    You will probably know how hard it is to find one pristine copy of these recordings, and here they are all in one lot and all in glorious mint condition.                                                                                                  If you consider that the green and white stereo label was only used until late 1966, early Eterna stereos were further only issued in very small numbers                                                                                                and that these recordings were originally issued for the first time in '66, as well, you start to get an idea of how rare the opportunity is to find all of                                                                                                      them in one auction in absolutely superior condition. I'm pretty sure, that these have never been offered before in one lot and chances are, they'll never be available as lot again.

If the starting price should actually turn out to be too high, I will not offer them again as a lot but sell them separately instead.                                                                                                                                   This could thus be the one and only opportunity to get one of the rarest sets that's ever likely to be offered on eBay in oustanding condition!

• Condition Covers: Strong EX to NM. Typical thin unlaminated flipbacks from the period with minimal general wear and bends and small, almost completely erased pencil-writing on back.                                                                                                                                                  Literally like new!

• Condition Vinyl: Mint . It's hard to believe, but it's true. All four records are in perfect condition. No.3 & No.4 might have been played once, one side of No.3 has one                                                                                                                                                      fingerprint that I have not attempted to remove, but none of the four LPs shows even the slightest signs of wiping. Beautiful virginal surfaces, perfect copies!

• I offer combined shipping for multiple purchases and I'll always send an invoice with correct rates shortly after auction-end.

• Unless you notify me in time, payment is expected within 5 days after receiving of invoice. If I don't at least hear from you in between, I'll send a non-payment notification through Ebay afterwards.

All records are described as accurately as possible and I will always prefer a more detailed depiction of the actual status, but usually I’ll only visually grade the records.

Please note that old records that were stored in shelves for a long time might have static noises even if they still look like new. Professional cleaning will almost always solve that problem.

Dust on records will generally not influence my gradings but if records appear to have stronger signs of soiling, I will give them a professional cleaning and playgrade them to get a more objective view on what their condition is actually like.
