Description

An original very 1st press of AUTOBAHN on UK Vertigo. Matrix 1/1. Etching "Bilbo". The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue embossed cover. We also have the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great shape and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very slight marks per side - nothing troublesome or heavy though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are impressively quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Most importantly this example is clean signalled- there's no extraneous noise in the background. Allowing you to fully appreciate this ambient masterclass. Even into the quieter segments - very nice clean background. Even that synthesized flute and high frequency pulses right at the end - clean as a whistle. Addictive! The only thing I could pick out was a couple of minor ticks in a couple of spots per side [e.g. midway through Autobahn]. Other than that it is a fantastic rendition one would struggle not to be impressed with.
Cover (Ex) This is a difficult one to find in decent condition. Unlaminated, large white sections, and embossed! That's a recipe for disaster! But this example has clearly been looked after. There's no surface wear which is nice to see. Barely a crease worth mentioning. Just a touch of ageing creeping in at the extremities - of those white sections. But overall - the aesthetic is very much still fully appreciable. Edge wear is very slight for this title. The spine is practically excellent. Still square with just one tiny patch of were in the middle. All text perfectly legible. The openings are still sharp too. The cover retains excellent rigidity. A very impressive looking original item.
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged. No splits.
