The L.A. 4 - PAVANE POUR UNE INFANTE DEFUNTE - East Wind Direct-to-Disc EW-10003 - Japanese Pressing - SIMPLY SUPERB!



One of the very finest direct-to-disc jazz records on the planet. This East Wind release features the work of the L.A. 4, comprised of Laurindo Almeida, Bud Shank (sax and flute), Ray Brown on bass, and Shelly Manne on drums.

A more beautiful playing of Jobim's CORCOVADO and WAVE you will not hear, to say nothing of the Ravel piece, arranged here by Almeida and played with such richness as to stop time. All of this monitored, before direct cutting, through Westlake electrostatic loudspeakers, some of the very finest speakers this audiophile has ever had the pleasure of hearing.

In the top 25 records to own, in my view, this copy with a cover like new, record within will play near mint.
