MAO MAO / J'ACHETE TOUT / IL EST GRAND TEMPS DE FAIRE... BOOM ! / COULEZ - MOI ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST EP by GERARD HUGE et son ORCHESTRA avec CLAUDE CHANNES lead vocals. Original 1st French biem pressing on FONTANA label (460.227 ME), from 1967. Desirable and killer 4-tracker (seldom heard in its entirety ;) with cult singer, Claude Channes providing the lead vocals on the score to this important La Nouvelle Vague film, directed by Jean-Luc Godard :) Features the mod club banger COULEZ-MOI and 3 other hip themes. Similar vibe to Les Missiles and Les Gardians EP we sold sometime ago, so expect another potent mix of garage freakbeat / funky yéyé and psychedelic pop on our La Chinoise item too. Great for DJs with booming production sound and songs as good as anything from the Le Beat Bespoke or Wizzz! series. We have also recorded J'ACHETE TOUT as comped on Pop À Paris Vol 5 : S.O.S. Mesdemoiselles / IL EST GRAND TEMPS DE FAIRE... BOOM ! (with its crashing waves - squawking seagulls intro and crazy telephone coversation midway) plus maybe Channes' most recognisable theme, MAO-MAO. Tres cool, mid '60s sounds with infectious rock and aggressive soul motifs. The psych tinged orchestra slays with agitated rhythm hooks / blasting horns / fuzz guitar / raw basslines and big drums galore. Striking picture sleeve artwork with "iconic" film still moment. Sooo hard to find in nice condition overall as usually always trashed (regardless of what others may say). Oh, and our copy still has the original languette attached. Rare EP!!!

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition with hairlines / light scuffs. Light surface noises. Some soft pops / soft ticks in places (as you can hear on our soundclip). The half laminated, flipback picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall with some faint ring wear / ring dirt marks from storage. Minimal light corner wear (mostly to the top right corner of the open side). Shallow sleeve bending from storage. Ring dirt marks and a few rub marks to back sleeve. Original languette still attached :) Sharp looking item. Rare OST EP!!!d
